[Synopsis]
The world is about to end.
Luckily, there's a savior.
A mysterious black fog has invaded the world, turning everything it touches into wasteland. Anyone tainted by the fog either loses consciousness or becomes a monster.
The apocalypse is nigh.
What can you do?
"I just need to scrape by somehow."
Shi Yi has a lousy life and no great ambitions. He usually just eats, waits to die, and dreams of living lazily, always following one principle: live one more day if you can.
Then fate played a thrilling little joke on him, dragging him into the apocalypse's mire.
By sheer coincidence,
he became one of the candidates for Savior...
Shi Yi pointed at himself, utterly confused. "Me? Save the world?"
"When the world is in crisis, the gods will come to its rescue. Their messenger will bring the world a glimmer of hope." So prophesied a sage a thousand years ago.
The Church of Cherres believed this prophecy wholeheartedly. They gathered a group of powerful ability users and used persuasion and threats of force to make them take part in a competition to qualify as the Savior.
The powerful contenders, each carrying their own past and beliefs, began fighting among themselves.
Looking at all the oddballs around him, Shi Yi couldn't see any sign that they wanted to save the world.
He asked, baffled, "Why are you competing? Is it really to save the world?"
Every participant looked at him like he was crazy.
One pulled out a certificate of mental illness, claiming they were here because they were sick.
One pulled out a wad of cash and tossed it around, saying they were after wealth and luxury.
One wiped the blood from their hands and prayed devoutly, saying they wanted redemption.
One bent over a notebook, recording data, saying they wanted to advance their ability research.
Another said they were just bored.
Shi Yi could only think one thing:
If we're the ones saving the world, it's doomed!
"Destiny cannot die, and reincarnation will never end.
A thousand years of trials, and at last the god descends."
The radiant morning star is born in the apocalypse. Amid the hazy, dangerous black fog, Shi Yi treads upon sharp thorns, bearing a thousand years of hope. He will lift the tottering world on his shoulders and welcome the dawn of a new beginning.

Bottom: A seemingly cold and ruthless baby-faced punk, but really a hot-tempered Savior who is all bark and soft-hearted.
Top: A seemingly flirtatious, scheming, beautiful good-for-nothing, but really a pure-hearted, shy, protective, love-struck fool.

Youxi: "They all say I'm crazy, so I want to find a medicine that can cure me."
Shi Yi: "Then why are you holding me?"
Youxi: "I'm taking my medicine."
Shi Yi immediately plants a kiss on his face.
Shi Yi: "Does it work?"
Youxi, blushing and shy, fidgeting but still wanting another kiss: "...It tastes good. Give me more."
Shi Yi crooks a finger. "Come and get it."
