[The entire story is written in advance. There will definitely be daily updates!]
I'm married.
My husband and I grew up together. He's mature and dependable, gentle and refined, and a renowned heteromorphic researcher in the underground city. But lately, something has been off about him.
Today, he picked me up from work as usual.
But I felt a sticky gaze, a gloomy presence, and a muddy sensation, as if something were squeezing the air.
I suspect my husband has been infested by a heteromorph.
I'm going to catch it, then kill it.
And get my real husband back.
-
After observing it for a while, I realized this heteromorph wasn't very clever.
It tried hard to imitate my husband's habits, but did a poor job. When it tried to fry an egg for me, it fumbled so badly that the flames turned its transparent fingers red, and it cried from the pain. My husband would never act like that. And at night, when it thought I was asleep, it would stretch its tentacles out all over the room, then carefully wrap them around me...
What an idiot. How could you give yourself away on the very first day of possessing someone?
Feeling mischievous, I decided to keep it as a pet for a while.
I patiently bided my time, occasionally pretending to suspect him. Watching my husband's stern, serious face as his eyes widened under the heteromorph's control made me laugh.
I thought it had possessed my husband because it wanted to devour me.
But whenever it looked at me, it was as tender and doting as ever, its eyes filled with the joy of having found me again. Those loving eyes always left me dazed.
-
Then one day, I received a letter from my husband. At the same time, I saw the tentacle monster's true form.
Transparent tentacles, glistening with moisture, waved through the air. In their midst, a young man with flushed cheeks struggled to untangle his knotted tentacles, trying to tie a pretty pale-pink bow around them.
It was our wedding anniversary, and the heteromorph before me had spent days preparing for it.
And yet, I was going to kill it.
Along with my husband.
[Reading Guide]
1. Nonhuman character, tentacle monster, rival suitors, third-person narration.
2. In short, it's a melodramatic story about a tentacle monster that plots to take over the husband's body. Just when it thinks the female lead can finally be with it, her childhood sweetheart, her real husband, comes back. The blurb may not be completely accurate due to the limited point of view!
3. The nonhuman aspect isn't very pronounced. The tentacle monster is beautiful and delicate, with tentacles, a lovestruck nature, and a tendency to cry. It's not scary, and it's both considerate and eager to please.
4. I'll polish the blurb based on the outline before posting, but the core premise won't change.
Theme: But he has tentacles!
