The aloof, hard-to-approach Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review × the foolish, beautiful coroner who hooks people without realizing it
Qiao Mo had barely transmigrated before he became a good-for-nothing coroner, scorned by everyone. Luckily, he met a kind Assistant Minister. The only thing was, this Assistant Minister...
Was so cold he never changed expression. In other words, he had a permanent poker face.
Like a rose covered in thorns.
When he saw the workers bullying Qiao Mo, the Assistant Minister would say:
"The Court of Judicial Review expressly forbids ostracizing colleagues, especially a coroner. You agreed to it, so why are you going back on your word? If you won't kneel and apologize to him, I'll punish you on behalf of the Minister."
"I won't say it twice. Unless you'd like to be thrown out of the Court of Judicial Review." Jiang Yehua's eyes were veiled in frost.
They all dropped to their knees and, with a thud, kowtowed to Qiao Mo. "We're sorry. We shouldn't have misunderstood you, let alone looked down on you!"
Qiao Mo: "...There's no need to go that far. I don't want to lose years off my life."
The next moment, they were holding hands and going to investigate a case together, acting as if nothing had happened.
"Now that your problem's taken care of, you owe me a favor. Why not repay it now?" Jiang Yehua walked up to him and took his hand, gazing quietly at Qiao Mo. "Something happened in the Southern City. We need a coroner."
All around them, people voiced their doubts. Qiao Mo clasped Jiang Yehua's hand in return, even lacing their fingers together as he smiled. "I'll go. It's an honor to investigate a case with you, Assistant Minister."
But after they finished at the crime scene and he'd served his purpose, Jiang Yehua was back to being his old self:
"Assistant Minister?"
"Assistant Minister?"
"Assis..."
"Quiet."
Fine... The rose wanted to bloom alone, and Qiao Mo let him.
He'd protect Qiao Mo like a treasure whenever he needed him, then toss him aside when he didn't?
What did he take him for, a beast of burden?
Later, Qiao Mo had Jiang Yehua wrapped around his little finger. Jiang Yehua peeled chestnuts and fed them to him, handed over his official token without hesitation, and was more than generous with his savings for their future.
He even let Qiao Mo get his hands on the silver in the imperial treasury...
Reader's Guide: 1. Both leads are sexually inexperienced, happy ending. (The author only knows how to write couples who are both inexperienced (?). That's not the case in the short story: the receiver was forced into it and didn't want it, and the giver wasn't there, so he couldn't help...)
2. A mystery-solving story. The receiver may be a little goofy (but not too much), while the giver is focused on solving cases, though he's attracted to the receiver. There's a little angst, but not much. Don't scrutinize the historical details too closely, because I looked them up too (awkwardly rubs fingers together).
3. The plot and romance develop in parallel. There's more romance in the middle, and more plot after they get together (?). Oh, I mean after their relationship settles down, the main plot really gets going. It advances a little in the beginning, too.
4. I can't think of any other potential squicks for now.
5. Oh, right. The receiver has to fulfill the original owner's wish before he can go home. If you read the first chapter earlier, please read it again! (I made a few changes to make things clearer.)
Upcoming story, please take pity on this poor author! I'm begging you!
"Infinite Survival on a Raft"
[Green-tea, silly-fish devoted giver × herbivorous little sheep, receiver who never gives up and keeps going to the end]
Su Muqing: I'm waiting for someone.
Lu Jinghuai: I'm going to take him away.
On a bright afternoon filled with the noisy chirping of cicadas, Lu Jinghuai should have been enjoying a leisurely day. Instead, he unexpectedly received a notification. A message popped up in the raft game and took over the entire screen.
[Dear Most Handsome Player on This Server, congratulations! You've received a surprise giveaway. Please claim it.]
Following the principle that money doesn't fall from the sky, and if it does, there's definitely a catch; that unsolicited favors are either deceitful or thieving; he naturally refused to accept it. But... after he pressed the [Cancel] button four or five times, nothing happened.
"A forced gift? What, is the Cancel button just for show?" Lu Jinghuai grumbled as he clicked Confirm.
Great, it worked on the first try. A direct hit...

He never imagined he'd enter the game and find himself fighting for survival on a real raft. He certainly didn't expect the System to use the same trick to force him to choose the main quest...
Lu Jinghuai: I like playing games where you pick up trash. I don't actually like picking up trash!
He also never imagined that the Sea God had already chosen him as a follower, and that he'd have to pay the price: an amount that could make your eyes roll back in your head. He had to spend ten billion Sea Shell Coins to rescue the Sea God from the depths of the ocean.
Naturally, he wasn't going to sell himself for a stranger. But under the System's threats, he gave in. He went from unwilling at first to willing later on. Lu Jinghuai had to admit that the Sea God had a succubus's face and a deadly allure, and was constantly seducing him with sweet nothings...
He was sure he'd lost his mind. Even if he were a narcissist who fell in love with his own reflection, he wouldn't have feelings for Su Muqing. But every move, every frown and smile from the Sea God was a ploy to lure him into a life of pleasure.
Later...
Su Muqing: Do what you want. I'll be right behind you.
Lu Jinghuai: It starts with me, and it ends with me.
At the end of the Mobius loop stands Lu Jinghuai. He must bring this endless fate to an end with his own hands, then live an ordinary life with his Sea God.
Theme: May there be no more wrongful convictions, and may peace reign from now on.
Lao Deng hahahahahahaha I died laughing

I know, I guess I don't know here>_<There is a word missing
I started a review, but suddenly I realized that I forgot to open 🥺, and the author couldn't remember anything in his head [changed]
I'll update it later (around 10:30) because the manuscript I've saved is so high that I can't spare the time to update it, sorry! It's really fun to code, I'll come back after I finish coding the chapter! 🥺
