Cases have been cropping up one after another in Chang'an lately.
Mysterious bloody writing appears on the walls of an empty house, and a young woman suddenly takes to the streets to cry for help, defying the curfew...
Each case is more eerie and complicated than the last.
With a System window hovering above her field of vision, Ming Yan smiles as she ponders what to eat tonight.
Freshly baked longbing, crisp and dripping with oil; fine, springy noodles as thin as silver threads;
fragrant crescent wontons, piping-hot lamb soup, and golden hu bing that crumbles with every bite.
The young heir of the Duke Who Guards the Nation has been frail since childhood, yet he suddenly receives an imperial order to assist the Court of Judicial Review in investigating cases.
Thousands of miles away, the old duchess counts on her fingers and mutters, “The person assigned to the Court of Judicial Review needs to be attentive and patient, and it would be even better if they knew a little cooking.”
Lu Changqin glances to the side, looking toward the young lady Ming in the distance, flipping a pancake with a spatula.
Excerpts from Young Lord Lu's notes
Day 1: The pancake made by Miss Ming was wonderfully crisp and fragrant. Unfortunately, given my frail health, I could only eat half of one. A real shame.
Day 11: Miss Ming specially saved some crescent wontons for me today. The broth was fresh, the meat tender. Truly top-notch.
Day 111: Miss Ming is taking the day off today. I hear she went to the city gate to see the newly appointed third-place palace exam graduate.
Young Lord Lu: ???
Lu Changqin slams the table and jumps to his feet. He can't keep pretending to be sick another day!
A genuinely beautiful and kind-hearted little chef x a fake frail young lord who supposedly can't take care of himself
