Chu Zhao is the heir of Prince Anqing and the Great Wu's God of War.
Rumor has it that he has slain tens of thousands on the battlefield, but the slaughter left him with a strange affliction. Whenever he kills, he loses his mind and goes berserk, and only spending the night with several women can calm him down.
Jiang Li is the unlucky girl who was offered to the heir.
She comes from a family of physicians and was born with a rare medicinal constitution. The Chu family looked at her as if they'd found a ganoderma mushroom, eager to send her straight to Chu Zhao so she could prolong his life.
She thought she'd fallen into a den of wolves, but the heir really was madder than most: sinister, cruel, and strange.
And yet... he knows nothing about emotions or the ways between men and women?
The steward wept with joy as he told her, "That's right! Whenever the young master touches another woman, his affliction gets worse. But he likes you very much!"
Jiang Li smiled. "He spends every day ordering me to pour his tea and water, wash him, and scrub his back. Who's the one getting all the perks here?"
Fortunately, Chu Zhao may be full of fury, but he's easy to appease.
Even when his affliction flares up, all he does is look at her with dark, heavy eyes and guide her hand downward. "A Li, it hurts so much here..."
She can only try to soothe him with her hand, then kiss his face. "It's okay. A kiss will make it feel better."
And he really does listen to her.

After managing to preserve her chastity with great difficulty, Jiang Li developed a medicine that could restore a person's clarity of mind. At last, when Chu Zhao went on a campaign, she was able to escape.
She enjoyed several peaceful months, until one day someone suddenly smashed through the door of her medical clinic.
The young man, whose affliction had struck again, looked like a demon from hell, yet smiled handsomely. "A Li, are you so happy to see me that you've lost the ability to speak?"
The male lead has a magnificent illness and cooks deliciously.
