Song Yingshuang had a younger twin sister who was separated from her as a child. They were parted for many years during the war.
The next time she saw her sister was at Prince Jing's wedding. Xie Fengjing was marrying the daughter of the Prince of Zhongshan, and among the wedding procession, Song Yingshuang spotted her sister, now a maid in Prince Jing's household.
She wanted to go to her and reveal who she was, but soon heard that Prince Jing had taken a concubine. The concubine was none other than her sister, Yingwan.
Song Yingshuang thought her sister must be happy. Everyone said that Prince Jing, Xie Fengjing, was as noble and radiant as the moon, and peerlessly handsome. Now that her sister had entered Prince Jing's household as a concubine, she shouldn't interfere.
But then came news that broke her heart:
Her sister had died a horrific death in Prince Jing's household.
To find out how her sister died, Song Yingshuang sold her property and farmland and used every connection she had. Only then did she learn that Prince Jing had used her sister to test poison!
Her sister's organs had failed, and the servants had thrown her body onto a mass grave. Meanwhile, Prince Jing's household merely announced that Second Madam had died suddenly and mourned her for a few days!
Song Yingshuang was consumed by fury. Her little sister had been sweet and obedient, innocent and adorable. How could they have treated her this way? She would have her revenge!
So Song Yingshuang approached Prince Jing. Her cool, elusive manner successfully piqued his interest.
"You seem strangely familiar, woman."
"Is that so? Do I remind you of her?"
"No. You and I are cut from the same cloth."
A revenge story about love and mutual destruction.
