Calculating, two-faced crown prince x cool-headed, clever transmigrated woman
Zhou Huai x Lin Li
High school student Lin Li unexpectedly transmigrates into the novel First Love as a supporting character who shares her name, as well as the original heroine Jiang Ruan's close friend.
She has to win over Zhou Huai, the gentle NPC who appeared only once: the crown prince.
Lin Li's father, Lin Feng, petitions the emperor to arrange a marriage between Lin Li and Zhou Huai. Lin Li becomes Zhou Huai's only woman and the crown princess of the Eastern Palace. They treat each other with respect and courtesy, but there is always a faint distance between them.
One night, Lin Li catches Zhou Huai killing the ambitious Second Prince and staging the scene to look like a suicide. Hiding behind a curtain, she witnesses the entire murder. Only after Zhou Huai leaves does she slowly emerge from behind the curtain, only to find him standing in the doorway.
He hadn't left at all!
Zhou Huai gives a soft laugh and backs Lin Li into a corner. He gently strokes her cheek with one hand, as though touching the most precious uncut jade in the world. His long, elegant fingers wind through her hair. In a cold voice, he asks, "Are you going to expose me, Crown Princess?" He emphasizes the last two words, his tone icy.
Lin Li can't believe that the usually mild-mannered Zhou Huai killed his half-brother. In the original book, he was clearly a refined gentleman.
Forcing herself to stay calm, Lin Li looks at him steadily and says frankly, "I won't. You're my husband. If I exposed you, I wouldn't gain anything from it."
"Are you afraid I'll kill you?" Zhou Huai curls his lips and looks down at her.
Lin Li sneers, certain of herself. "You won't kill me."
Two years later, Zhou Huai ascends the throne. The crown princess, Lin Li, naturally becomes empress, the woman who rules the empire's inner palace. Zhou Huai has no one else in his enormous harem.
Zhou Huai discovers the hairpin Shen Qin gave Lin Li. He draws her into his arms and murmurs, "Xiao Li, don't leave me, all right?" Lin Li pats his back. "I'll never leave you."
Amateur writing, debut work. The male lead isn't a good person. Read at your own risk, and please be gentle.
The leads fall in love over time. At first, the male lead manipulates and distrusts the female lead; later, it's pure love.
