(I wrote the original in my notebook when I was in high school, and it's painfully cringe. I don't recommend reading it. Run while you can.)
Everyone in the Three Realms knows that the Vermilion Bird Immortal is biased toward his youngest disciple. The little disciple comes from the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, but was born with damaged spiritual roots. Fortunately, his master teaches him with great care and grants him cultivation, allowing him to grow nine tails.
When the little fox faces his first tribulation, he nearly gets roasted by heavenly lightning. Just then, a figure in red steps in front of him. His master takes the tribulation for him, but loses his memory and falls into the mortal world, where he becomes an ordinary mortal for a lifetime.
Everyone in the Immortal Realm thinks the little fox is a seducing fox spirit, and they all point fingers at him.
But they don't know that Qing Xuan betrayed his clan and secretly fled to the mortal world. There, he found his master, now reincarnated as a doctor, and protected him from harm.

Lin Zhimo is an unremarkable doctor who lives in seclusion in the mountains, treating whoever comes to him. Then one day, a very unusual patient arrives: pale-faced, with a frail body that seems as if a gust of wind could knock him over.
Yet that same man can easily take down a whole pack of demons. With blood on his cheek, he looks hauntingly beautiful as he smiles at Lin Zhimo.
"Master."
Lin Zhimo: "Sorry, you've got the wrong person."
But the man travels with him across countless mountains and rivers, healing the sick and helping the world, without ever uttering a word of regret. Lin Zhimo is moved, yet also begins to wonder: could he really have forgotten something?
When his time is almost up, Lin Zhimo collapses in Qing Xuan's arms, coughing up blood. Trembling, he takes a marriage contract from his robes. "Actually... I've been in love with you for a long time."
When he opens his eyes again, his memories return, and he transforms back into the Vermilion Bird Immortal he once was. Meanwhile, Qing Xuan shows up at his door with a bunch of fox cubs, brazenly asking for his hand in marriage.
Gentle, dependable master seme x cool, beautiful fox uke

Dual POV, seme and uke get roughly equal time.
My first novel. Please forgive the writing, it's as bad as a rock. Bows low.
Theme: Stand firm amid chaos.
