When the apocalypse arrived, Lu Jinxing was unexpectedly saved from certain death by a zombie. Taking a closer look, she realized it was the little sidekick she'd always overlooked.
The little sidekick had become completely different from before. Before the apocalypse, she was an orphan who received nothing but pity. Afterward, everyone was an orphan, and she was free and powerful.
She had gone through childhood all over again, as if given a new life. Lu Jinxing envied her zombie-like innocence and purity, her strength and fearlessness. That was why she cared for her, and why she needed her.
Lu Jinxing was willing to care for a zombie and face every season together, waiting for her to wake, to remember that her name was Ruilin, and at last to remember their love.
If only... all of this could come true.

An extraterrestrial object fell to Earth inside a meteorite. Researchers discovered a small, distinctly religious-looking spaceship within it, containing a strange, mutilated body that looked like an octopus that had become a spirit.
The researchers wanted to study it, but they opened Pandora's box. An unknown parasite or virus burst through containment and swept across the planet, turning the human world into a zombie apocalypse.
The dead became zombies, while the living began to mutate. An eyeball grew in the palm of Lu Jinxing's right hand. It had a mind of its own and wasn't fully under her control. At times, it could even influence her state of mind.
Unlike the other survivors, who mutated into beings with three heads and six arms, Lu Jinxing gained the ability to see the future.
But the price was seeing things that should never have been seen.
They called themselves the "Descent of the Gods." The sacrifice of millions of humans was merely a means of choosing a god, and Lu Jinxing herself had been chosen as a "Believer."
The counterpart to a "Believer" was a "Divine Heir." There was more than one Divine Heir, but only one divine throne. Lu Jinxing had to support and protect her Divine Heir until she ascended the throne. Their fortunes were bound together: if one prospered, so did the other; if one fell, so did the other. Otherwise, Lu Jinxing would be buried alongside her Divine Heir.
The survival of life on Earth was nothing more than a game for the nobility. Lu Jinxing loathed these higher-dimensional extraterrestrial beings for destroying her home. She tried everything to wipe out the invaders, but she had never imagined that her Divine Heir would be...
Ruilin.
A voice murmured in the depths of her mind, urging her to leave her beloved and the frail flesh and blood of humanity behind--
Embrace glorious evolution.
Note: The early chapters will lay the groundwork for the world and the characters' initial development, with a focus on survival. The battle royale begins when the time is right.
Theme: Walking together against the light.
"The same back" is a big bug for the author~
