Becoming an Army Wife in a Period Novel, with a Rocky Marriage

Xia Chengmei has never had the sort of generous heart that wishes others well. Lu Shian is the man she forcibly claimed and married against his will. To Lu Shian, Xia Chengmei is a burden he has to carry, a shackle he cannot break free from. Neither of them can blame the other.

They have been married for three years, and he has never once come home to visit. Xia Chengmei has never said a word to him, either. The first time she sent him a telegram, it was to ask for living expenses. The second time, it was to tell him his father was gravely ill. The third time, it was to notify him that she wanted a divorce. Other people might look at her life and think she was a neglected wife, but this was the most peaceful life she could have asked for.

He can keep loving the person he loves. The woman who is the moonlight in his heart is remarkably kind, and every time she passes by, she even stops to visit. She was the one who bought all the books Xia Chengmei needed to prepare for university entrance exams. Throughout their three-year marriage, he has been a decent man who took responsibility. Xia Chengmei figures that now she has made a good life for herself, she should let the two of them be together. They are both good people. Let the original owner, who worked herself to death, have a different life this time.
