Loyal, highly skilled young marquis (Yao Yuzhu) × cool, beautiful young prince and divine physician (Shen Zhuoyu)
The Shen Prince's household has a young son who is a divine physician. Though his martial arts are mediocre, he is skilled in medicine and even better at using poison. After his parents were falsely accused and poisoned to death, his personality grew increasingly strange. In front of others, he pretends to be calm, indifferent, and harmless, while secretly taking revenge with ruthless cruelty.
The young marquis of the Yao household is a hostage the emperor keeps in the capital. His parents are stationed at the border. The Yao and Shen households are close family friends, so their two children naturally grew up together, childhood sweethearts in all but name.
When they were young:
Yao Yuzhu: "Zhuoyu!! You're testing medicine on yourself again! You passed out for two days last time. Have you forgotten!?"
Shen Zhuoyu had no expression, like a robot without a trace of feeling. Somehow, he still managed to say, "I'm fine." (Nom, nom, nom.) "It's pretty tasty. Want to try some?" Shen Zhuoyu picked up a piece of an unknown herb, its stem dripping with green juice, and held it out. Yao Yuzhu was so frightened that he hurriedly said, "No, no! I don't have the young prince's body, immune to every poison."
