Darling, Do You Want A Husband?

~Coming up next: My Husband, Come Home for Dinner~

Han Zhang woke up one day to find himself transmigrated as a poor farmer's son.

His family was dirt poor and struggling to get by.

His grandparents hoped he would make something of himself, while his younger siblings were hungry and still needed caring for. As the eldest grandson, he bore the responsibility of bringing honor to the family.

Han Zhang: What a disastrous start!

So...

To change his fate as quickly as possible, Han Zhang decided to follow the classic path to fortune for an ancient scholar:

That meant "tricking"... no, "courting" an innocent, wealthy young man and living off him!

Shen Qinglan was the legitimate son of a fifth-rank official in the Ministry of Rites.

He was handsome, but simple-minded, spending his days eating and playing. He was less talented and shrewd than his siblings.

As a result, people used him as a stepping-stone and stole one marriage prospect after another from him, making him the laughingstock of the capital.

Shen Qinglan refused to accept it. He secretly resolved to enter the palace as a favored consort, relying on his pretty face to get revenge and hold his head high!

But...

His ambitions were grand, while reality was unforgiving.

His dream of becoming a favored consort never came true. Instead, one trip out of the house turned him into a lovesick fool for the impoverished scholar Han Zhang!

The young man grinned from ear to ear and raced home.

"Mother, Lord Han is handsome and brilliant, and he's sure to become a pillar of the court. He's amazing, I really like him, and I want to marry him!"

Nobody thought Shen Qinglan should marry beneath himself. Behind his back, they whispered that the poor scholar would surely let him down, all waiting to laugh at him.

But... they waited and waited. Han Zhang passed the imperial examinations, was sent away to serve as an admired official, was framed and exiled to the borderlands, and then rebelled and became Emperor...

And by Lord Han's side, there was still only his beloved husband!
