[Jing Yuan] Beyond Reach

"I searched for him a thousand times in the crowd. Then, when I turned around, there he was, where the lights grew dim."

Dan Feng may never have truly searched for him. In the past, finding someone like that had seemed meaningless to him. As the dragon lord of the Vidyadhara, he had more important things to do. And so it was only when his mistake had already been made, after he had endured countless tribulations and was about to be reborn through reincarnation, that he finally realized he had long since noticed the person standing where the lights grew dim.

But not everyone will wait in the same place, and the Luofu would never let that person stay.

And so, the days and months passed, never to return.

For Dan Heng, who had been made to suffer imprisonment from the day he was born for the sins of his past life, everything from that former life was a torment. He had never stopped wishing to escape those troubles and hardships and fly far away.

But when he set foot on the Xianzhou Luofu once more and reclaimed the "real" self he had been unwilling to remember, Dan Heng suddenly recalled that even in that lightless cage, a ray of sunlight belonging only to him had always shone upon him. And yet he had extinguished that light with his own hands.

The past cannot be reclaimed. All that remains is to remember those who came before.

[Centered on Jing Yuan, and I absolutely know the characters will be OOC, so please forgive me!

Though Dan Feng and Dan Heng appear in the blurb, the CP... I want to write Lan x Jing Yuan, but there'll be very little of it. If that's not your thing, just skip the last chapter~]
