The Fairy Xi He was the Heavenly Emperor's eldest daughter. But after she and Yiqi Long, the son of Meng Po from the Underworld, released the ancient ferocious beast Taowu, she was punished by being sent to the mortal realm, never to return in any lifetime.
Taowu was hunted by the Heavenly Palace's ten great generals. Injured by Mu Zha's iron staff, it took human form, hid its eight-zhang-long tail, and concealed itself in the mortal realm.
The Jade Official Sihong was ordered to go to the mortal realm and capture Taowu. But after a long search failed to uncover any trace of it, Sihong had no choice but to continue hiding in the human world.
Unexpectedly, Meng Po abused her authority, and Xi He never drank the real Meng Po's Soup. With Meng Po's help, the two found Sihong, hoping to atone for their mistake.
And so the wheels of fate began to turn.
