1. The first time Jiang Muqing saw Lu Yu, he saw his true form: a mermaid so beautiful he seemed like a dream, frail yet bewitchingly alluring.
Then Jiang Muqing did the only self-sacrificing act of his life. He saved Lu Yu and returned him to the sea, only to fall into the clutches of a demon himself.
While imprisoned, Jiang Muqing learned that Lu Yu wasn't just bewitching to look at. He really did have the power to cloud people's minds.
Of course! How could he possibly be so stupid as to risk his life for someone the first time they met? He must have been cursed!
People's hearts, or rather, fish hearts, were truly impossible to guard against!
By accident, they were given the wrong drug by a lonely old sea witch, and became able to hear each other's thoughts.
Jiang Muqing: This fish is on the verge of death and still won't stop trying to bewitch me. He's cursed me again! (angry face~~)
Lu Yu: A curse? What curse? Who would waste their power on this guy? (confused face~~)
2. The first time Lu Yu saw Jiang Muqing, he noticed the secret this man was hiding. Perhaps he belonged to the Tal race too, making them the same kind. But danger was always close behind, and they were soon separated.
Later, after enduring various inhumane experiments for a long time, Lu Yu developed dissociative identity disorder.
But he had no time to focus on treatment. The fate of the Tal race hung in the balance, and the conflict between humans and aberrant beasts constantly threatened the survival of the whole race. As the sole inheritor of the genes of the Radiant Darkfish, he had to shoulder the responsibility.
Only after everything settled, on the day his personalities merged, did Lu Yu realize what Jiang Muqing meant to him.
Carefree, roguish top x aloof, cool-headed bottom who puts the greater good first; they dote on each other. Genetic mutation x personality integration x extraterrestrial race
Reader's guide:
1. Told from the top's perspective. A winding story, but with a happy ending. Plot-focused.
2. Set in a fictional world. The Tal are a friendly extraterrestrial race with advanced technology. After their home planet underwent a cataclysm, they moved to the depths of Earth's oceans.
3. Aberrant beasts are formed from mutations in Earth's native plants and animals. (The story leaves how this happened unexplained for now.)
4. The top is the genetic inheritor of the Cloud Candle Dragon from the Tal's Sky Base. The bottom is the genetic inheritor of the Radiant Darkfish from the Tal's Ocean Base. (The top grew up in the human world. The bottom also grew up in the human world during his childhood, then returned to his people.)
Theme: All life is equal.
