Former title: "After the Lamps Go Out at Dusk"
[To make following the story a better experience, character information may be revised as the plot develops. The protagonists’ names may also be censored later. This is normal.]
Gentle (?) hopeless romantic, immortal-bird top x forced to save the world, snake bottom
(Note: They aren’t literally a bird and a snake, just have some of their traits.)
Dusk is a curse, a calamity, the sacrifice of companions, loved ones turning against each other, a homeland that can never be returned to, and a paradise nourished by fear and despair.
Civilization must endure. The displaced people built new city-states, but the shadow of the fallen Imperial City still lingered. To secure a lasting peace and keep themselves from waking in terror in the middle of the night, the rulers could only think of another solution:
Resurrect Ling Mo, the High Priest born with divine bones, who could withstand the Dusk.
*
After “ordinary” college student Ling Mo died, he transmigrated to a fantasy world a thousand years after the apocalypse and became bound to an unreliable System that only ate and never gave anything back.
In an era when everyone had supernatural abilities, he had none. Worse, from the very start, he was sent to a dangerous area where many people had already died.
There were inexplicable dolls, spirit husks watching from the darkness, and a... birdman of unknown identity.
He needed to survive one night here. The safest plan was to find someone powerful to rely on as soon as possible.
Gong Suning, passing by, saw someone tumble out of the bushes. “?”
And so, he got himself a boyfriend.
After being forced through a series of events, Fu Hanmo finally discovered that there was more behind his transmigration.
Countless people held him aloft despite his lack of powers, while another group waited behind the scenes for him to fall from the sky.
What he found most unbearable was that everyone expected him to clean up their messes, as if he had been born to save the world.
Fu Hanmo: Has a breakdown on the spot.
Everyone else, excited: That’s the High Priest!
Fu Hanmo: ...
At the end, the System issued a mission: Wait for death seven days from now.
Fu Hanmo, flipping the table: I quit!!!
*
Someone died and came back to life, then died and came back again, pushing Gong Suning to the limit of his patience.
Inside a dangerous corruption bubble, Gong Suning trapped Ling Mo in his domain. While people outside raced against time to survive, the two of them were making out inside.
In the same gentle, sorrowful tone he had used in the past, Gong Suning asked, “May I hide you away? If Ah Han really doesn’t want to talk to me, that’s all right. I’ll take your silence as a yes.”
Ling Mo’s eyes widened in alarm. He stammered, unable to speak.
Hey, could you get your fingers out of my mouth first?!
Content Warnings:
1. The top has birdlike habits and likes cuddling. He likes the bottom to call him “baby,” but only in bed.
2. Neither character is just window dressing. Though the story is plot-driven, their romance takes up a lot of space.
3. The top is a little clingy. The bottom has a bit of a universal-admirer quality, like having a devoted fan club.
4. At first, the top is the sort who gets angry and then just gets a little angry, like a cotton ball. He’ll grow more forceful later, but he’ll still basically be a cotton ball.
5. [Highlight] The bottom has two of those things, but they’re never used!!!
6. More to come.
Other Details:
1. The Crow Plains arc is complete. The story is currently working on the Eternal Night arc.
2. Throughout the main timeline, the bottom never has supernatural abilities of his own. But he’s good at fighting and has high physical combat strength (runs away carrying a pot to shield himself). He also came from another fictional future world, so he isn’t a modern person in the traditional sense!
3. As the top regains his memories, he becomes calmer on the surface and more unhinged inside, but overall he’s still not as unhinged as the bottom.
4. There are a lot of characters. I’ll do my best to give each one a moment to shine!
5. It has a pseudo-infinite-flow setup, but isn’t actually an infinite-flow story. See the author’s original worldbuilding for details.
6. Strictly one-on-one, with both leads having had no other partners. No one else is involved in their relationship from beginning to end!!! No splitting them up and no switching their roles!!!
Theme: Cherish life and rebel against fate.
I almost forgot, wishing everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival??(ˊωˋ*)??
Uh-huh, I miscalculated the date. It turns out that Chapter 40 was released on the 31st. I can't stand it anymore.
Sorry, I have to change the next chapter. When it will be released depends on sh's mood.
The manuscript is almost saved, and I have started to overhaul the previous article (deleting all the embarrassing emotional lines and worldview entries), and I plan to edit them all and repost them all.
This kind of worldview outside of cognition is very interesting, maybe it's relatively niche. But it's beautifully written 🤗
I'm gossiping about you and your wife, come and listen 🐶
So it was a long time ago, when our high priest Ling Mo saved the world and sacrificed himself, leaving behind the birdman Lao Gong, who is now filled with guilt, regret, and tears, and is in pain 🐶 Mo, your love debts are getting more and more 🐶
When will two of them grow 🤩🤩🤩
I feel like there's something wrong with that old couple!
The bird sculpture attack and ear feathers are very civilized, and the teacher didn't enter v?
