Lucille is a creation of the Supreme Academy of Sciences.
She is the only successfully created artificial lifeform at present. Her cultivation period is extremely long, and she requires round-the-clock care. With the academy's resources limited, they decided to find her a temporary guardian.
Federation officer Knox was sent to the rear after being injured. With nothing to do and his life dull and lifeless, he spent every day wondering how to find some excitement.
By chance, he learned that a monster was waiting to be adopted.

In his third month as her temporary guardian, Knox realized he'd fallen for a scam. Of everything said about Lucille, only one thing had been true.
She really was a monster incapable of understanding human feelings.
