My Nonhuman Childhood Friend Isn't Sick

[Complete] [Nonhuman Top × Sunny Bottom]

As everyone knows, Gu Liaojiang's childhood friend is abnormal in every way.

As everyone knows, Gu Liaojiang is fiercely protective of his own.

So if the words "He Wei is sick" ever reach his ears, the usually good-tempered young master Gu will fly into a rage and shout back, "You're the sick one! Your whole family is sick!"

_

In fact, Gu Liaojiang understands better than anyone that He Wei really is sick, physically sick.

He Wei is a lunatic. He hates sunlight and talking to outsiders, and spends all year hiding in a pitch-black basement. The only person he is willing to interact with is Gu Liaojiang.

He Wei has an extremely keen sense of smell. Every day, he identifies what Gu Liaojiang has done and whom he has been in contact with by the scent on him.

He Wei isn't human at all. He's some strange creature. His body is covered in indescribable scars and whirlpools, and eight tentacles grow from his back. Those slick, slimy tentacles sometimes reach out to embrace Gu Liaojiang.

Gu Liaojiang knows all these little secrets, but he doesn't care in the slightest. He'll live with He Wei forever, no matter what the other is.

_

Gu Liaojiang has always loved He Wei.

He's certain He Wei loves him too. It's just that his nonhuman childhood friend... knows nothing about love.

So the usually clever Gu Liaojiang faces a challenge unlike any he's ever encountered: How can he turn a friend into a boyfriend?

Oh, and one more thing: this friend has eight tentacles.

_

Gu Liaojiang's world is beautiful. He grew up surrounded by flowers and applause. He's good-looking, gets good grades, comes from a good family, and even has the superpower to foresee the future.

But the person he loves is trapped in a dark, damp basement, unable to witness the incomparable beauty of the world.

Mountains, coastlines, sunsets, birds in flight: he wants to see them all with He Wei.

And tell him what love means.

Reader's Guide:

1. Extremely socially anxious and lacking in common sense, childhood friend is his whole world, tentacled nonhuman top × top student, doted-on rich young master with the superpower of foresight, chuunibyou sunny bottom. 1v1, HE.

2. Nontraditional nonhuman romance, lighthearted and heartwarming.

[Content Warning] The top lacks understanding and has somewhat animal-like thinking, and is slow to react.

3. [Important] A sweet romance-focused story with no evil villains. A healing tale about love and redemption, occasionally sprinkled with dark humor.

4. Extreme faction loyalists, proceed with caution. The bottom pursues the top, but their feelings have always been mutual.

5. Template cover. Any similarity in images is purely coincidental.

6. This is my own worldbuilding, with many original settings. Please don't compare it to reality.
