Qian Jiu is broke enough to hear the coins rattling in her pockets, but applying to work at a place that’s one big crazy scene at all times is absolutely not about the sky-high salary. She simply has a kind heart and loves little animals.
She dreamed of becoming a mighty beast keeper. But on her first day, she was assigned a foul-mouthed parrot named Pretty.
Pretty was not only depressed, but plucked out its own feathers all day until it looked like a turkey ready for the oven. Then it followed Qian Jiu to a meeting, where it went berserk in front of hundreds of Alpha colleagues, called out the workplace’s dysfunction, and even chewed out the zoo director...
In the dim office, Feng He sat in a black leather chair, his gaze sweeping over Qian Jiu. “Director Huang says we’ve received a lot of complaints lately. Is your parrot foul-mouthed?”
Qian Jiu nervously tried to defend Pretty. “Deep down, it’s a kind little bird. It’s just a bit emotionally unstable.”
“Who the heck taught it to say ‘I’m gonna mess you up’?”
“...”
Feng He’s dark eyes fixed on Qian Jiu as he asked without warning, “You’re an Omega. How did you get in here?”
“I’m not. I didn’t. I’m strong...”
