The summer of their first year of high school, they met for the first time at a stone bridge. Wen Zhou thought it was just a chance encounter, but then he saw him again in the classroom.
After that one meeting, Song Zihuan's eyes were branded into Wen Zhou's mind.
Because of their height, they sat next to each other for all three years.
Song Zihuan seemed to have fallen for Wen Zhou!
Even though he didn't believe it himself, every time their eyes met, he became more certain. If things went on like this, even his heart wouldn't be able to deny it.
Wen Zhou wasn't a bad student, but his parents had very high expectations for him. He had a younger brother named Wen Hao, a name that embodied all their parents' hopes.
Growing up, his parents constantly mocked and belittled Wen Zhou with cutting words. To Wen Zhou, it was sickening to hear Wen Hao casually say “I love you” to them.
But the comfortable life they provided made him admit that they loved him.
Song Zihuan was born into a highly educated family. He was already exceptionally gifted, and growing up surrounded by learning only made him shine brighter in his chosen field.
“When two people's gazes meet, that counts as a meeting.”
What should he do? Song-ge's contrast after falling in love had Wen Zhou completely hooked.
“What do you need a token of love for? You've already laid your heart open for me to see. What could possibly be better?”
“He's very good at pretending. He fooled everyone, even himself.”

tips: The point of view should really be unclear, but I don't know how to change it, so I reluctantly went with dual perspectives. I can't write anything particularly angsty. There are flashbacks, scattered throughout.
August 31, 2024: I'm officially putting this story on hold to start my high-school boarding-school life. (tips: I'll write whenever I have time during breaks, and I promise I'll stick it out until the end.)
Theme: Live well and be happy every day
