Synopsis:

He introduced himself: "Ji Shiyu. My ability is mind reading."

Mu Qing: "What?"

He thought his ears were playing tricks on him. He needed to get them checked at the hospital.

They were locked in a desperate struggle against an organization that coveted superpowers and dreamed of ruling the world. More and more superpowered people were being captured, and the situation was grim.

"Someone has to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. Do you understand?"

"Mu Qing, why is your ability so strong? Why have I been holding you back so much? When you have too many people to worry about, you can't bring yourself to leave. Do you understand?"

"You're their son."

After returning from the old man's place, Ji Shiyu discovered that his mind-reading ability no longer worked on Mu Qing.

Protecting the world was an honorable cause, and someone had to make a sacrifice.

But the person had been chosen long ago.

At last, the final battle came. With everyone in mortal danger, Mu Qing took a deep breath. He said nothing to anyone, preparing to say goodbye to everything.

Before he disappeared, he looked at Ji Shiyu, the corners of his mouth lifting even as his voice remained calm.
