[Matsuda-Centric] I Turn a Blind Eye to the Plot Points I'm Supposed to Play Along With

Matsuda Jinpei woke up one morning to find himself back in his police academy days. It turned out that his future self had beaten a certain game, sending them back to the past and giving him a chance to save his childhood friend. To save Hagiwara, he had to clear a certain scenario. The scenario was a palace-intrigue mystery, with pairings including Zero and Hiro, Hagi and Matsuda, Furuya and Matsuda, Furuya and Shinichi, Scotch and Bourbon, and Furuya and Kazami, among others. These are only pairings assigned by the scenario. The characters themselves are unattached and refuse to play along.

Matsuda: Why is Furuya the emperor in this scenario, and why is Morofushi the empress? Why did I become one of the emperor's concubines?

Guard: Your Majesty, this is terrible! Consort Matsu has run away again! None of us can beat her...

Morofushi, nearly tripping over his long skirt: Someone tries to poison me every day because they're afraid I'll give birth to a prince, but I'm a man. I can't have children. Honestly, I'm even taller than Rei. Don't these NPCs find that strange?

Furuya: It's fine. Rye is even taller, and no one's suspected him. Besides, through the NPCs' built-in filters, you're all women.

The scripts Hagiwara received: Dumplings Are the Best, "Jinpei-chan, Open the Door, It's Little Furuya," and "Why Can't the Three of Us Be Together?"

Hagiwara: Why am I the younger brother? Can I be Little Furuya's older brother instead?

Furuya: Because in ancient times the eldest legitimate son inherited the throne, and the older brother is the emperor. Hagiwara, you can be the emperor if you want, but the empress would be Hiro...

Morofushi: (a benevolent smile)

Hagiwara: Little Morofushi is terrifying. Never mind. I'll go roam the martial world and pledge my life to Jinpei, who's snuck out of the palace!

Matsuda: (with a wave of his hand, changes "pledge our lives to each other" on the script to "swear brotherhood")

Theme: None.
