From the recipient's perspective:
Everyone in the village used to envy Song Qing, saying she'd picked up a lucky charm.
She had been unable to have children for years, but after taking in a young man, she got pregnant three years later.
The young man, Song Miao, gradually grew up and became more and more lovely. He could also help with farm work. Watching Song Miao work so nimbly, Song Qing thought that, although he was a bit older, he could just about serve as a child bride for her precious son.
Later, Song Miao began to have fevers often. The young man was pretty, but he couldn't work and needed money for medicine. Song Qing wasn't about to throw money away on such a losing proposition, so after thinking it over, she sold Song Miao to a nearby town.
Song Miao was dizzy with fever every day, but still thought about helping the family harvest the grain. He never expected his mother to sell him to a slave trader, and then be bought by a tall, fierce-looking man.
But later, the man treated his illness, taught him to read and write, and said he wanted to be his husband.
From the pursuer's perspective:
After five years in the army, Liang Yue returns to his hometown and never expects to find a Kun Yuan in this remote town. While his mother looks on in confusion, Liang Yue buys the sick young man and tenderly cares for him. When his mother asks what he means to do with the young man, Liang Yue says, "He's my husband."
Liang Yue takes him to get treatment, teaches him to read and write, and supports him in learning medicine. To love him is to accompany him as he grows.
Little scene:
Just after Song Miao is bought and brought home to the Liang family: I'll work hard. I'll take care of the fields. Just give me something to eat, and please don't hit me.
Years after they marry, when Song Miao goes into heat again: Husband, hold me!
Liang Yue lovingly draws Song Miao into his arms. Little Doctor Song, a doctor can't treat himself.
