The story of Zhao Fengshi and Zhang Yan began with the cliched love at first sight. Born into a wealthy family, Zhao Fengshi had always had things go his way and knew nothing of hardship. He finally worked up the courage to pursue Zhang Yan for a year, and succeeded.
But the sweet romance he had imagined never came to pass. Instead, they bickered over little things every day, had a major fight every three days, and even got into a physical fight every couple of weeks. They became a pair of resentful lovers who did nothing but torment each other.
Zhao Fengshi couldn't stand Zhang Yan lecturing him like a child, controlling his every move, or giving him the cold shoulder and acting like a chauvinist from time to time. He could go on talking about his boyfriend Zhang Yan's flaws for a whole day and night without stopping.
A friend suggested, "If you can't stand it, just break up. What's so great about that taciturn Zhang Yan?"
Zhao Fengshi shook his head. "We can't break up."
Then he added, "He can't live without me."
