"If you could transmigrate to ancient times, what would you want to be?"
Li Lingjun: "I want to be emperor!"
"But you're a woman..."
Li Lingjun: "If I can transmigrate, why should you care?"
The empress ascends the throne, and the four seas submit... Of course, that has little to do with Yue Lingze.
She has only just crawled out of a coffin, and the first thing she sees is a graveyard full of cawing crows.
You can transmigrate just by missing a step?!
Yue Lingze sees through Heaven's malice. In this strange dynasty, she is utterly alone, with no one to turn to.
After fainting from hunger on the street for the third time, nearly being seized as a concubine for the sixth time, and being dragged off to be sold into slavery for the twelfth time...
Yue Lingze throws up her hands. "I'm done!"
What's morality? What's dignity?
Yue Lingze gets it: her current priority is staying alive.
You say she should just bash her head against a wall and die? Sorry, she doesn't have the guts...
Everyone knows that His Majesty the Emperor has a long-dead first love, a woman who died ages ago.
And Yue Lingze looks almost exactly like her!
So when the emperor begins selecting consorts, Yue Lingze readily agrees to the plans of a minister hoping to make her a rare and valuable prize.
She's going to the palace to live the good life!
Wait! Why is the emperor a woman?!
Not only is the emperor a woman, she also looks down on Yue Lingze for being "untalented and uneducated."
After all, the emperor's first love was a genius skilled in both literature and warfare, while Yue Lingze is just a fragile college student who forgot everything as soon as she finished her university entrance exams...
The emperor gives her a sinister smile. "How can a fool like you deserve to wear the face of my first love?!"
And so Yue Lingze is packed off to the Imperial College and handed an academic plan longer than her life...
Yue Lingze is having a miserable time. She decides she can't handle this good fortune and sincerely asks the emperor to let her resign.
But the request is denied!
Yue Lingze plans to run away.
But the damned emperor sends the Imperial Guards to search the entire city!
Heavens, she has it so rough!
Yue Lingze is at a loss for tears. All she can do is bury her head in her studies and try to graduate early... that is, get out of there as soon as possible!
