Yuan Wu died, then woke up to discover he had transmigrated to a star system a thousand years in the future.
The world had changed beyond recognition. Earth had lost the vitality it once had. The great cities of the past were no longer alive with music and neon lights every night. In their place stood gray, crumbling buildings and shattered roads. Now and then, a bonfire could be seen burning inside a collapsed tower.
Steel, concrete, and trash were piled everywhere.
Most of the trash came from space.
He looked up. Even without light pollution, the sky was still starless. All he could see were the new homes built in space: Bright City and the Ark of Hope.
The most conspicuous thing of all was the sky screen.
When it was inactive, the sky screen was pitch-black, looming high above everyone as if a god were looking down on the world. Its oppressive presence was everywhere.
Coming from the old world, Yuan Wu was stunned the first time he saw it.
Everyone here yearned to be chosen by the sky screen, yet feared it at the same time.
It was thanks to the sky screen that humanity had rapidly entered the interstellar age. But it had also divided people into ranks.
Those chosen by the sky screen could gain supernatural abilities, resources, money, and influence, as long as they completed its assigned tasks and made it out alive.
The solar system had been divided into six regions by those with abilities. Earth was not included in any of them. To put it nicely, it had become a public zone. To put it bluntly, it had been abandoned and turned into a planet for dumping trash.
Yuan Wu arrived with the status of a ninth-rank citizen, fit only to scrape a living by scavenging on the trash planet. Fortunately, he had brought along a golden finger from his transmigration: the Heavenly Secrets Chart. Whatever area he illuminated, he could harvest.
No one could influence the sky screen's choices. Anyone selected by it, even a ninth-rank citizen, could instantly become a first-rank citizen and immigrate to Bright City to join the elite.
That's why the people on the trash planet both loved and hated the sky screen.
With the Heavenly Secrets Chart, Yuan Wu had everything needed to enter the sky screen. There was no way he could avoid it.
So let's see how Yuan Wu conquers the infinite worlds within the sky screen.
