The border count's future bride sat collapsed inside a shattered carriage. She looked up timidly and met a pair of deep-set eyes.

The Sun and Moon Empire's dragon roared as it surged into the sky, a tiny black figure clutched in its claws, screaming in terror as it rose.

Evelina Talimar had been plagued by misfortune for the first eighteen years of her life, and leaving home did nothing to change her luck.

She had been captured by the enemy emperor.
