I Cross the Passes and Mountains

Unofficial Blurb:

The year my mother died, I was seven.

For three days in a row, heavy snow fell over Baoding. Someone rode in on a fast horse through the snow, scooped me up from the charred ruins where I had been wandering, and took me beyond the Yumen Pass.

The woman who removed her veil was my mother's dear friend. She had come to fulfill my mother's dying wish and take me in. She said I was a poor thing and told me to call her Aunt Tang. From then on, I trained in martial arts under Aunt Tang for ten years and learned the spear. At last, I could last dozens of moves against her. But she said that still wasn't enough. The Yumen Pass could no longer contain me, so she sent me back.

Back to the Central Plains.

I was seventeen when I returned to Baoding. A tavern now stood where my childhood home had been, and the once-mighty Marquis of Baoding had lost his influence. The world had changed, and the vast jianghu had seen waves of people come and go. Yet one silver spear still stood firm.

It was my mother's spear, and it was mine.

My name is Chu Wushuang. Wushuang, meaning peerless.
