Village Brother, Sneaking Off to Be Happy Again

A classmate dragged me into a game of Truth or Dare, and somehow I lost. My task was to confess to Yukimura-kun.

Yukimura-kun was the tennis club captain who had led Rikkai University to two consecutive championships. He was handsome and kind, and a popular figure in the class next door who received love letters by the handful.

I decided to give up. My friend tried to talk me into it: "It's not like Yukimura-kun even knows you. People confess to him every day, so why not just slip him a random love letter?"

It made sense to me. I racked my brain and wrote a decent enough love letter, then deliberately stopped him one afternoon after school when there weren't many people around.

I'd prepared my lines in advance: "Yukimura, we're about to graduate. Even though you don't know me, I still want to tell you how I feel..."

Me: "Even if you won't say yes, I..."

Yukimura cut me off. "Sure."

Me: "Huh?"

I asked, bewildered, "What do you mean, 'sure'?"

He said, "I accept your confession."

"So..."

"Sure," Yukimura said with a radiant smile. "Let's go out."

"..."

?

I just stood there, dumbfounded.

Later on,

Why do I get interrupted every time I try to come clean?

Yukimura-kun, please stop casually flaunting your beauty and charm.

Will someone teach me how to break up with him?!

...I've learned my lesson. Please spare me.
