When their act fell apart, their friend got strung up and beaten by the two of them.

Qin Shaoyi had just started his first year of college. His manly looks earned him the affection of plenty of guys at school, and within a month, quite a few people had made advances. Eventually, Qin Shaoyi got tired of being pursued and bluntly told a guy who kept flirting with him, "I’m straight. Don’t pursue me."
The guy was so shocked he could hardly believe it. How did this guy look straight at all? From then on, Qin Shaoyi’s words became a popular saying at Ancheng University: "I’m straight. Don’t pursue me."
Qin Shaoyi hadn’t expected the words to work so well. That guy never approached him again, and even others in their circle kept their distance after hearing it.
But Qin Shaoyi never expected those words to push away the person he loved, too. Because of them, Li Zhiyun gave up on confessing his feelings to Qin Shaoyi.
Li Zhiyun: "You’re straight?"
Qin Shaoyi nodded with difficulty. "...Yeah."
Li Zhiyun: "What a coincidence. I’m straight too."
And so they had to pretend to be straight in front of each other.

Because of a bet, Qin Shaoyi faithfully and tirelessly brought Li Zhiyun breakfast every day for two years, getting up at the crack of dawn and going to bed late, from high school through college. Then he found out it had all been a scam. Qin Shaoyi hated being lied to more than anything.
After being found out:
Li Zhiyun admitted, "I was the one who lied to you. I’m sorry."
Qin Shaoyi: "Hah. Li Zhiyun, you’re unbelievable. Did you think I’d be easy to fool?"
Li Zhiyun: "No. If you’re really angry, I can pay you back for the breakfasts from those two years."
Qin Shaoyi’s face darkened with anger. "Li Zhiyun, do you think I shouldn’t be angry? You’ve got to be kidding. You think paying me back will settle this?"
Li Zhiyun: "Then how about I bring you breakfast for two years too? Or you can beat me up to feel better?"
Qin Shaoyi: "I want to know why you lied to me."
But Li Zhiyun lowered his eyes and said nothing.

After their act as straight guys was exposed:
Qin Shaoyi: "I’m finally getting a wife!"
Li Zhiyun: "My back aches every day, and my mouth hurts."
Roommates and friends: "So much for being straight, huh???"

After Li Zhiyun and Qin Shaoyi got together:
A friend suddenly asked Qin Shaoyi, "Brother Yi, did you know goji berries nourish the liver and kidneys? You drink them every day. Can Li Zi keep up with you?"
The friend was worried for Li Zhiyun. Qin Shaoyi looked like a college guy who was extremely good in bed, and he even drank tea to boost his energy...
Qin Shaoyi: "I had no idea."
Li Zhiyun: "No wonder my back and legs ache every day. No more drinking that stuff, and you’re not allowed in my bed anymore!"
Qin Shaoyi: "Honey, you can’t treat me like this!!"
