Xiang Yao had only read a period novel before bed. She closed her eyes and opened them again, only to find herself transported to the 1970s, with a space of her own filled with melons.
The only catch was that she couldn't enter her melon patch whenever she wanted.
To keep herself fed, Xiang Yao had no choice but to roam around, happily gorging herself on gossip while harvesting melons in the fields.
What? The captain's wife is going to drink pesticide in the fields and accuse him of having an affair with a young widow from the production team?
Xiang Yao's eyes lit up. She hurried to the scene, only to find that there was more to it than met the eye.
What? The youngest daughter of the Zhou family isn't their biological child, and her birth parents from the city have come to claim her, but she refuses to leave?
Xiang Yao pulled out some peanuts and settled in to watch. Well, now, the truth was far from ordinary!
Huh? Ding, the educated youth at the brigade's youth station, has been caught two-timing several people and is now being confronted by all his partners beside the manure pit?
Xiang Yao ran over at once. She had to see Ding take a bath in the manure pit today!
Goodness! Her usually sweet and sensible older cousin is about to leave her husband and child and give up on life?
Xiang Yao's eyes shifted as she went over to counsel her: You have to keep living. When it comes to a manipulative, trashy man, going crazy is the more reliable option!
After snacking on all the gossip from one household after another, Xiang Yao learned a thing or two:
If there's gossip, eat it up. If there's none, make some yourself. Give cold gossip a little spark, and watch a little morsel grow into a feast!
*
Everyone in the brigade said Nie Baichuan was handsome and kindhearted, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed one.
It was just a shame that his family background was poor. No family was willing to marry their daughter to him.
Only Xiang Yao knew that his warmth and kindness were all an act.
He was the ultimate villain in the book. Cut through that pale exterior, and you'd find a black sesame filling!
But when the Xiang family showed how heartless they could be, forcing her to marry a violent, short-tempered cripple, she had no choice but to set her sights on this great villain.
A notorious troublemaker and a famously good young man: everyone shook their heads, convinced they were doomed. Someone like Xiang Yao wasn't cut out for married life. They would never last!
But as time went by, not only did the young couple's life grow sweeter and sweeter, they both flew out of their little mountain village and stood shoulder to shoulder at the peak of their careers!
Note: This is a fictional setting, with lots of everyday family squabbles and trivial matters. Just enjoy the fun~~

Transmigrate into a book / reborn / raising kids / building a career / faux uncle-and-sister-in-law
Chun Xiu worked herself to death after staying up all night. When she woke up, she discovered that she had transmigrated into a book.
She looked at her younger brother-in-law, unconscious with a high fever in the bed in the next room, then at the two tiny, emaciated children huddled beside him. Chun Xiu's vision went black, then black again.
Her new identity was the wicked widowed sister-in-law of this brood of children. The original owner had "accidentally" lost the younger one, while the older one had endured everything until he turned completely evil.
As for the original owner, of course the villain, after turning evil, tortured her until she was as good as dead, then left her without a whole body.
Chun Xiu didn't want to die. Gritting her teeth, she decided to try her best to reform him before he turned evil.
The villain loved and protected his younger siblings, so as their big sister-in-law, she raised the children until they were plump and healthy, and painstakingly tutored them herself.
The villain skipped classes and played truant, so she carried his schoolbag and lectured him at length about the path of life, earnestly urging him to study.
The family was so poor you could hear the pots rattle, so she did everything she could to make money...
Later, the younger brother-in-law who was supposed to become a great villain pinned Chun Xiu against the bed in the dead of night. His long fingers brushed the loose strands of hair by her ear, and his voice was low as he said:
"Sister-in-law, you've taught me so much. Tonight, it's my turn to teach you."
In the darkness, Chun Xiu begged for mercy over and over, completely lacking in backbone. She had never expected that after doing so much, she would still end up being tormented by the great villain until she was as good as dead.
#Villain, wake up. I'm really your sister-in-law#
#The villain doesn't turn evil, and his sister-in-law isn't wicked anymore#
#I was supposed to raise the kids, so how did I end up getting dragged into this?#
Theme: Be a decent person and enjoy the gossip
This is too bad for the heroine, so why not ask the hero for help in the end?
The female protagonist deserved it. She knew they were going to sell her but she still thought she could just refuse. There was no means at all. At least one of them was cut to scare people. And the male protagonist didn't tell anyone that he liked her. He only felt angry with himself. He was really speechless and died.
There are quite a few loopholes, and the heroine was not very cautious from the beginning. . . A bit hard to describe
It's better to ask the male protagonist for help before he's locked up.
Every time I see the time traveler having feelings for the original owner's mother, I feel it's fake, and I feel even more guilty. The heroine didn't do it voluntarily and didn't enjoy it (only my personal opinion)
Hmm... Every time I see these plots in period novels, I wonder whether the heroine treats others as fools or the author treats readers as fools. It's okay to give some peanuts to the aunt in the village. It's okay to go to the county town to deliver goods occasionally. The continuous supply of fruits in batches is not even in season, which is enough to make people suspicious.
Nice! Love watching! Write more! 😚😚😚
Why is the next chapter locked? When can I read it?
What's the inexplicable joke for people watching? It felt like the heroine was about to explode, but she suddenly fell off again. Has the heroine not realized how great her family is? She believes it when they say they won't let her get married?
It's great. It's been a long time since I've seen a heroine who can curse like this. If you encounter such a weirdo and have a grudge, you should report it on the spot. Don't swallow your anger and wait for the aftermath 🐰
