After Failing to Assassinate the Aloof Demon Venerable

After getting drunk, the little fox Fei Shuang was assigned a major mission: assassinate the Snow Wolf Lord of the Demon Realm.

The tiny fox staggered all the way to the bed of Zhexue, the Demon Lord, and pressed a dagger to his neck. Only when his blood began to flow and demonic energy filled the air did she suddenly come to her senses.

Feeling the Demon Lord's oppressive aura, Fei Shuang dropped to her knees in front of him and said the opposite of what she meant: "This humble one has admired Your Excellency for a long time. I came here to present this divine artifact in my possession to you."

Zhexue lowered his eyes and saw the little fox trembling before him. He said lazily, "Since you admire me, then stay by my side."

Fei Shuang nervously stayed beside the Demon Lord, and discovered that the great demons of the Demon Realm were surprisingly easy to get along with. As the only red fox in all the Six Realms, her standing in the Demon Realm kept rising. She was on the verge of becoming the second-in-command, and could come and go as she pleased, with no one daring to stop her.

Fei Shuang found the right moment to escape the Demon Realm, but Zhexue caught her at the edge of the world.

The Demon Lord Zhexue was no longer as aloof and cold as before. He held her captive and said, "Little fox, did you think I wouldn't find you just because you ran all the way here?"
