After leaving the operating room, the hospital assigned her to a newly established administrative department:

All that awaited her was a remote office, a rehired department head reading the newspaper with his legs crossed, a clueless recent graduate of a technical secondary school, and a few dusty riot shields.
Li Yan took off the old glove she'd worn for over a year and pulled out the transfer letter from her briefcase.
"Hello, I'm the new team leader at OPO. I look forward to working with you."
