The Person in the Painting

[A captivating, aloof, world-weary beauty of a top]

Xue Ci never imagined the System would abandon him.

During the Jinglong era, Emperor Chu Yunhui brought a "paint immortal" back from Hidden God Valley. People said his paintings were utterly unlike the work of ordinary artists, but after he entered the imperial city, he never came out again.

Rumor had it that the emperor beheaded him because he had painted a person, a beauty who held a place in Chu Yunhui's heart...

In the fourteenth year of Jinglong, Emperor Chu Yunhui died. With no children of his own, he was succeeded by his younger brother Chu Zhao, who changed the era name to Jinghe.

Chu Ci transmigrated to an imaginary ancient world, where a System claiming to "assist the emperor" mysteriously bonded with him. He had to help Chu Yunhui ascend the throne to return to the modern world.

He spent eight years in this world and finally put Chu Yunhui on the throne. Just when he thought he could go home, a painter sealed him inside a painting... It had all been Chu Yunhui's doing. He wanted to keep Chu Ci by his side forever.

Chu Ci couldn't escape the painting, and the System disappeared along with it. He could never return...
