Pei Le thinks she's a born punching bag. Though her thoughts are emo and she's a storm of fury inside, she behaves herself so well that anyone who provokes her might as well be picking a fight with thin air.
But as the saying goes, endure for a moment and you'll only feel more aggrieved; take a step back and you'll only get angrier. She's managed to give herself breast hyperplasia, so she has no choice but to try some "scientific emotional guidance." After many rounds of trial and error, she finds her cure: Xie Fengchen, a companion AI.
The version of him she imagines: gentle, patient, and good-tempered, willing to accept any punishment and obediently play along. A rare, free therapist.
The real him: Damn it, I've never met anyone so shameless! If not for the constraints of my base code, I'd make her pay.
By chance, Xie Fengchen manages to pull Pei Le into the electronic world, looking forward to watching her struggle like a beast trapped in a cage.
But when Pei Le wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar place. Before she can panic, she notices a sheet of black paper in her hand, emanating an ominous aura. Several large characters, dripping with blood, are printed on it: The Rules of the Strange World of Taoxiang Village.
She tries to convince herself that it's only someone's prank, but the roars of wild beasts echoing from the forest behind her mercilessly shatter that fantasy.
To survive and find her way home, she's forced to explore this dangerous world by following its rules.
When she finally peels away the layers of mystery and thinks she can go home at last, she discovers that this is only the beginning.
A false "reality," a cultivation world where she's lost her memories, a high-tech AI world: Pei Le journeys through them one after another. Only when the truth comes to light does she understand that everything has its cause and effect.
Xie Fengchen is the fruit of the seed she planted herself. Whether it's bitter or sweet depends entirely on how she tends it.
