Kudo is a high school student whose parents are dead. He's dirt poor.
One day, he opened the door to his tin shack and somehow ended up in a parallel universe. There, he even met another version of himself.
That version looked completely different from him, as if he had everything. He was just a little younger, and, oh, he'd changed his name to Conan.
They both thought it was just a chance meeting between parallel universes.
They never expected the tin shack to become a permanent passage to the parallel universe.
As they visited each other's worlds more and more often,
they slowly realized that the other was a miracle who could make up for everything their own world had lost.
Kudo: a part-time detective in the slums, the god of odd jobs, a top student struggling toward the University of Tokyo entrance exams, the big brother to three orphanage kids, an orphan whose parents are dead...
The tin shack is too small. There's no room for so many people.
Conan: Do you really have to be this frugal? You don't even have a washing machine.
Kudo: I'm the washing machine in my house.
In short, this is a lively, bickering story of family and friendship, traveling between two parallel universes, with plenty of banter and healing.
Theme: Always have the courage to embrace life
