[A fallen noble family, aloof and cold heroine who only cares about scholarship X a scheming, puppy-like illegitimate son of a noble family who only wants to make money, but gets dragged into scholarship]
The Cen family had a daughter whose fame shook the capital. Seven years ago, at the Autumn Longevity Banquet, the Emperor betrothed her to the Crown Prince.
Before they could come of age and marry, the Crown Prince was deposed, and the Cen family was implicated.
The whole capital watched Cen Xuehong's humiliation. She'd only brought honor to her clan by climbing into a good marriage. Who would dare take her now?
Amid a city's worth of ridicule and scorn, Cen Xuehong gathered the manuscripts left by her late mentor and set off alone to explore a foreign land, all to complete a work called The Compendium of Natural History.
She had only one year.
The Five Wraiths' Venom was the cruelest and most incurable poison in the world.
On the day the deposed Crown Prince died suddenly, Luo Silang, Prince Qi, summoned Cen Xuehong with a smiling face and icy eyes. He had painstakingly plotted his way to victory, step by step.
He laid two choices before her:
A gold-inlaid jade ruyi, signifying his offer to make her Princess Qi, or a bowl of dark, black poison.
Cen Xuehong drank the poison and resolutely left the capital where she'd been born and raised, the city she'd once been willing to give her whole life for.
As she set off for a foreign land, she decided to hire an interpreter, a carriage driver, a guide, and an attendant.
Yue Ling, the one-in-a-million worker with every skill: Me?
When the rainy season arrived, Yue Ling and Cen Xuehong went their separate ways.
He was bent on revenge, determined to see everyone who had hurt him and his younger sister perish in hellfire.
Yet amid the torrential rain, he finally remembered the Autumn Longevity Banquet in a foreign land seven years ago.
It was in rain just like this that Cen Xuehong, radiant and divine, had once bent down to him with compassion.
"It may mean nothing now, and it may mean nothing ten years from now. But a hundred or a thousand years from now, people will still remember the herds of elephants that crossed the Three Lands, and the wild geese that flew over the Seven Seas. That has to mean something."
The ancient Guyou Ta family, whose prosperity had endured for a thousand years, was wiped out overnight in a heavenly fire like divine punishment.
The sole heir to this ancient noble family, emerging from the ashes, was Guyou Ta Yue Ling, a despised child of a slave who had fought hyenas for scraps since childhood.
He climbed the high white-jade platform and scattered the manuscript, filled with drawings and descriptions of rare plants and animals, from its summit. The pages fluttered down like snowflakes.
The whole city was thrown into an uproar. The wealthy and noble raced to copy it, making paper more precious than ever.
I want everyone in the world to know your name, not as someone's widow or someone's princess, but as yourself.
I want us to share a bed in life and a grave in death.
I want our names to remain linked for a thousand years and ten thousand generations, whenever anyone speaks of us.
[Reading Guide]
1. The Three Lands and Seven Seas is an original fictional ancient-world setting. This will be a series.
2. The plants and animals are all fictional, and their real-world inspirations will be noted. I'm not an expert, so please bear with me.
3. Both leads are each other's only partners; pure romance, one-on-one.
Enjoy! -v-
Theme: If not for things that matter, how should we spend our finite lives?
I haven't read Jinjiang for a long time, but by some chance I clicked on this book the day it came out and read the whole book. I feel so lucky now. I feel that the whole text is more focused on group portraits, and I am deeply impressed by everyone's descriptions. But what I like most about our Xuehong is that she is really a very, very charming person, calm and composed, and her only "flaw" of stubbornness has turned into a sparkling advantage. She is a bit more wild on the grassland than the noble girl in the capital. She is good at literature and martial arts, has a bodhisattva heart, can beat puppies, train cheetahs, and even has a certain sense of spiritual pioneer. She is really a very, very perfect person. I also really like the sympathy and support between girls. The author's wife describes it so well. It makes me so happy to see girls helping each other. Girls are the best in the world 💪 The puppy is also a very good person, always facing Xuehong with a sincere heart, like two little beasts licking each other's wounds, supporting each other and walking in the dark night. They confided in Caiyue Aunt's roof and shared weal and woe during the journey. They are each other's spiritual partners. I love every interaction between them. I also have deep feelings about the supporting characters. The author can always outline the appearance of a person with just a few strokes. Aunt Caiyue, who has not appeared much, also traveled to the mountains and rivers like Xuehong when she was young. She was so uncomfortable; the mutual love between parents, the young girls who met in the palace, and the daily life of treating each other as guests after marriage. I was particularly impressed by the part when my mother wrote the letter of divorce, a piece of family life, a story, and a piece of happiness. Fortunately, they persisted in their lives, and the ending was very happy; the bold and enthusiastic Quercus girl who met on the roadside at the beginning was too vivid when faced with the shyness and purity of her lover; Tiangui's father suddenly woke up after his daughter died, he cut off the head of the opposite party, and left without looking back... I really like this story, and everyone's stories are very touching. For Luo Sicong, he was a good monarch, but not a good person worthy of entrustment. I think he loved Xue Hong, when he was rescued by Xue Hong, and in the next few seconds, but when the balance in his heart collapsed, it was no surprise that he tilted as he wanted. What he didn't expect was that Xuehong was proud and unwilling to give in. He had some feelings of love and hatred in the middle, but in the end, maybe he thought about it clearly, or he felt guilty, and came to his hometown to see Xuehong for the last time, which made people deeply moved. I always suspect that Xuehong has some avant-garde ideas. She has her own views on the contradiction between the upper class and the lower class, and she also has her own views on the sacrifice of women for marriage, which was particularly valuable at that time. She hopes that all women can soar in the world like birds. This may be the unique free nature of children on the grassland, or it may be that her mother leads her. Isn't naming her Xue Hong just in the hope that she can soar in the world like a blue-feathered goose? She always wears plain clothes, like a proud bamboo, walking around the world, helping many, many people. Everyone thinks she is kind, a clay Buddha, and a really good Xuehong baby. The last time I read such a hearty book was "Dao Ma Dan" I read some time ago. The heroine in the story is very, very charming like Xue Hong. I like this sparkling feeling of the heroine, it's so perfect. Although I have regrets about the species that were not included in the story at the end, I am more happy for Xue Hong. She has a broader world, and she can explore everything she wants. She still has a long, long time to tell this story clearly to others. She is so sparkling, Xuehong is so shining, I feel really lucky to read this book. Of course, there are some doubts in the story... For example, how the puppy's mother's tribe finally solved the problem of the chief priest. But these are minor issues. You can see a lot of different information in each chapter. The author is really great. I have read a lot of related introductions. I am really lucky to read this book. I really like Xue Hong. I can't explain what my feelings are. I just feel really happy when I read it 💪 Life is similar everywhere, it should be like a flying dragon stepping on snow and mud. Finally, Zelda is fun!!! Fun!!!
Ahhhhhh! So we Tiangui and Taibai are the only ones who died!
I have always particularly liked Xuehong's name, and also her surname, Cen, which refers to a small but high mountain. She is the protagonist of the story, and she is also a trace of white snow on the snow mountain in the world. Although she is small, she is full of subtleties. She can shake the mountains with her own ability. She feels really charming. 💪 It is such a good name. She is definitely my favorite heroine I have read recently. I feel like Xiang Xiang is really like her 😚 When I read it, I felt so happy that I wanted to keep reading it. I read Two O'clock in the Night yesterday. The heroine is not really particularly attractive. I don't know how to describe this feeling. Anyway, I fell in love with it. The female author really has a great feeling for writing stories with female protagonists. The words exude charm. The girls are very efficient and capable in doing things. They walk like perfume... I have fallen in love with it. This is my perfect XP. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The poetry appreciation course is about to end next week. I am a pure science student and I chose this course simply because I like it. Because poetry is really super charming, I felt it was so well written when I read the quotations at the end of several chapters of this book. The emotion was immediately brought into it, and it gave me a lot of inspiration. I hope that next week I can connect with the poetry and write out everything that is on my mind. I really feel that this book is underestimated. The writing is really good. I wish I could see this book become popular and publish it in the future. I am very willing to buy it for our Xuehong collection. I also look forward to seeing it in person one day. I am so happy. I feel happy just reading the words. Please call us Xuehong 💪 Sister, sister, we like you 🤩
There are still a few chapters left to finish. I have been catching a cold these days and have been catching less 55
Taibai whining. You cruel woman, you are so happy now that you wrote Taibai to death. I will never forgive you! Forever!!
Thanks to the limited exemption, I kept singing Li Jian's "Human Resonance" in my mind while reading.
The author is so literate🥺🥺
Thank you for the limited discount. It's great. They still have a long future.
Woohoo, the writing is so good and so interesting. I hope I can read it again in the next book.
Thanks for the limited fee. Thank you author for bringing us a beautiful story. It's a pity that Tiangui and Tanning are separated by yin and yang.
