They show him how they work inside the human body, protecting health and fighting pathogens. But this harmonious world is under threat from a group of evil harmful bacteria, who plan to disrupt the balance of Probiotic Village and endanger the Host's health. With help from his probiotic friends, Qiqi learns a great deal about microorganisms and their skills: how to identify different kinds, how they live, and how they affect one another.

As the story unfolds, Qiqi grows braver and cleverer. He leads the probiotics in devising several strategies to fend off the harmful bacteria's attacks.
