The Hated Idol Who Became a Star After Switching to Acting

Mu Nuo transmigrates into a book, becoming a minor cannon-fodder character from the early chapters.

The original character was a member of a boy band that had flopped. Relying on his popularity, he threw his weight around on the set of a low-budget drama and managed to offend everyone.

After the drama became a hit, he tried to climb to the top by stepping on the protagonist, only to be slapped down with ease and boycotted across the internet.

Luckily, he transmigrates at the right time: the first day of filming.

Mu Nuo came up through a talent show. His singing and dancing were terrible, but he made it to the finale on the strength of his face and became an overnight sensation. He was known in the industry as a pretty face with no talent.

His fans were fierce fighters, becoming famous outside the fandom for their unmatched ability to tear into anyone in domestic entertainment. Their fan culture had a notorious reputation for toxicity.

Then Mu Nuo started acting.

Before his work aired, the naysayers wouldn't let up.

[The next "ghost" of an acting prodigy is about to debut.]

[His singing and dancing, the things he's actually trained in, are already a steaming pile of crap. I don't even want to imagine how awful he'll be at something he's not trained for!]

[Seriously, Mu Nuo, can you stop ruining the film and TV industry?]

[Get lost. Stay out of it.]

After his work aired, viewers begged and pleaded for Mu Nuo not to leave.

[I'm sorry. I admit I was a little loud before. Please stay in the acting world!]

[Please, get on set again as soon as possible. Your face and acting are such a treat for my eyes.]

[This kind of acting at his age is terrifying talent. So why turn down the meal heaven keeps shoving at him to blaze his own trail instead?]

[I never complained about your terrible singing and dancing before, but if you go back to it now, I'll start yelling. I'll be damned if I don't yell you back into acting!]

[What's wrong with you Nuomi? He's this good at acting, and you don't promote it, but you keep letting him sing and dance?]

[You can't spoil him like this!]

The fans: "..."

What an enormous black pot to dump on us!

A doll-like beauty was certainly lovely, but a lively beauty was even better. They'd suffered through their idol's calisthenics routine for ages. If they'd known he could act this well, would they have waited for outsiders like you to notice?

Theme: Skill is the foundation of a person's standing.
