[Ambitious schemer & hopeless romantic]
"I am the daughter of the Sun-Chasing tribe,
And I will compose a triumphant song of my enemy's death."
Aruna, princess of the Sun-Chasing tribe, had saved many lives.
She and her brother helped a ewe through a difficult birth; perched on her father's broad shoulders, she carefully returned a fallen fledgling to its nest; guided gently by her mother, she laid a hand-sewn fish-skin coat over the shivering back of an old man.
But a treacherous viper entered the Sun-Chasing tribe.
"Little Pearl, run! Don't worry about your father!" her father cried.
"Survive... You, your brother, and Uguli must all survive!" her mother begged.
"Go...! Go!!" her brother growled, on the brink of death.
Aruna defied their pleas. With a dagger, she took the Viper's life with her own hands.
After a saber cut off her head, she returned to three years earlier.
A strange young man with deep green eyes rescued her from the river. Without a second thought, she sank her teeth into the back of his hand.
Reborn, she continued saving lives. She opened trade routes for fish-skin clothing and revitalized the economies along the way; she took in homeless refugees, women, and children, built clothing workshops to create jobs, and improved people's livelihoods... Later, she took her enemy's life once more.
This time, no saber severed her neck. Only the man with deep green eyes gently held her.
"Aruna," Daolun Chechen said softly, "I love you."
