As the white moonlight of the protagonist shou in a cultivation world, Li Que exists to catalyze the romance between the protagonist gong and shou, and is ultimately doomed to the tragic end of having his soul annihilated.

Being tormented by illness and suffering unbearable pain day after day is one of the eight sufferings of life: the suffering of illness.

The character who was supposed to be forced to use his ability every day and endure endless pain had his fate rewritten by Li Que's arrival.

His teammates forbade him from using his ability casually, and even when he had no choice but to use it, they rushed to take all the pain for him.

[World Two: Death (Xianxia Cultivation)]

With his life nearing its end, the Immortal Venerable Haoyue of Shangqing Sect took the alias Li Que and married the emperor's fourth son in order to ascend by cultivating the Heartless Dao. After lowering his eyes in thought, Li Que once again made his way among princes, civil officials, and military officers. In the end, the accumulation of souls slain by his sword paved the path to the immortal life he had long dreamed of.

What he hadn't expected was that the vast Nine Heavens would be filled with familiar faces. The men he had chosen to kill as proof of his devotion to the Dao were all incarnations of various High Gods undergoing trials in the mortal world. Now, one by one, they had come knocking...

The original Immortal Venerable Haoyue sought immortality everywhere in vain. After offending the immortals and gods of the Upper Realm, he was punished with countless cycles of reincarnation and death before finally perishing.

Now Li Que leaned on his sword and watched the High Gods turn on one another for his sake, wreaking havoc across the Nine Heavens, while he idly wondered where he might find a quiet place to cultivate in seclusion.

[Worlds Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight]

The later worlds will explore birth, old age, separation from loved ones, meeting those one resents, longing for what one cannot have, and the burning of the five skandhas. The settings aren't finalized yet. I'll fill in the details as I think of them.
