A Mix-Up Between Yin and Yang

[Contracted story. Please excuse the writing if it's not very good.] I became sworn friends with a ghost official, and figured we'd go between the realms of the living and the dead together. Who knew that on my very first day on the job, I'd be kicked right back into the world of the living? After five years of causing trouble in the underworld, the King of Hell finally couldn't take it anymore. He tossed Chang Ying a job as a ghost official and told him to get to work in the mortal realm. And so he was reborn as Shen, the second young master of a family that had been wiped out. While carrying out his assignment, he accidentally burned down his enemy's family home. But the fire also burned his secret identity to ashes. His secret about knowing government employees in the underworld was about to get out! Living friend: So you're saying these people with long tongues, white eyes, and black eyes are all your brothers? Chang Ying: Not brothers, exactly. They're more like my elders. Living friend: Then who is this one? (Drags over another Chang Ying.) Chang Ying: Oh, that's me from my previous life. - Years later, he returns to the grave where he was reborn, carrying two pots of cassia wine. He pours one out beside the grave. He thinks for a moment about the other pot, then stirs it with a brush and writes a line beside the grave: Five autumns of wind and rain, and all my life I've been fond of remembering grudges. I mistakenly studied books and the sword, thought there was no way forward, and yet how could a brief trip through the mortal world be enough? I begged for a living under the King of Hell: neither alive nor dead! Thesis: Labor creates value
