Kill Me or Skin Me, Just Figure Something Out [Mononoke Fanfic]

Ever since I was born, I was cursed and foretold to destroy all of humanity. As the "villainess," I resolved to save the world through self-sacrifice.

"Medicine Seller, I hear you specialize in exorcising supernatural beings. Please rid the people of this menace and take me away." My sincere, forehead-to-the-ground plea still failed to move that cold, proud, handsome man. He told me flatly, "I don't hurt humans. If you want to kill yourself, you can hang yourself."

If hanging could get rid of an anomaly like me, I wouldn't need to bother you!

I won't give up. Even if I have to pester him endlessly, I'll make the Medicine Seller accept!

Later, I really did die. Medicine Seller, can you get rid of me now that I'm a supernatural being?

[Reader Advisory]

1. Beware: tragic ending!!! It turns from a tragic ending to a happy ending, the kind where they reunite together in hell. Please decide whether to read based on what you can handle.

2. A Mononoke fanfic. It's so heavily original that you can also read it as a Japanese fantasy novel. Please be gentle.

3. In short, this is probably a story about a sunny girl pestering a lofty, aloof man in the early chapters, and the century-old Medicine Seller finally falling in love; later, a wrongfully killed girl ghost tries and fails to save the Medicine Seller, who has fallen to evil and become a god. The two of them go to die together (fall in love).

Theme: Learn kindness, learn to love others.
