I'm really sorry I ran off because my previous writing was so bad I couldn't stand it myself.

Revision plans: The romance between the leads won't change much, but plenty of other things will. For example, I'll cut 80% of the awkward roommate plot, cut 96% of the awkward ABO worldbuilding, and rewrite some awkward scenes with side characters so they aren't awkward. I'll add some scenes from the top's perspective (not whole sections from his POV, just a sentence or two in the dialogue), and add lots of interaction between the leads early on, both in conversation and in person. The main romance won't go off track, and the plot won't move ahead prematurely. I'll make sure the story still connects even if you pick it up where I left off, though I recommend reading the revised earlier chapters too. You may be surprised to find the leads much more familiar with each other when they interact.

Ning Zhou is a beta, a background character on campus. Everyone assumes he likes omegas, but he has a secret he can't tell anyone.

Just as he was beginning to accept the little sugar omega, he and Ji Shuchen seemed to be growing closer, little by little.

On the night he went out with Ji Shuchen for the first time, Ji Shuchen asked if he had someone he liked.

Ning Zhou nodded.

Ji Shuchen: Then I'll help you win him over.

Ning Zhou: ...

Ning Zhou: Okay.

And so, the days of "practicing" with Ji Shuchen during the day and "dating" the little sugar omega at night continued for a good while.

He really lived up to his reputation as T University's campus heartthrob. Everything hit the mark, and things went wonderfully with the little sugar omega.

But a second before he and the little sugar omega were about to kiss, Ning Zhou pushed him away.

It seemed he really couldn't lie to himself.

Ning Zhou chose to confess everything to the little sugar omega, including the fact that he actually liked alphas, and that he actually liked Ji Shuchen.

Ning Zhou: I'm sorry I lied to you for so long. At this point, I'll accept whatever you want to do to me.

To Ning Zhou's surprise, the little sugar omega didn't hit him, curse him out, or expose him on the campus gossip wall.

He simply took off his mascot head.

Ning Zhou: ?

Ning Zhou: ???????

Ji Shuchen grabbed Ning Zhou, who was staring in shock and would definitely have run away on instinct as soon as he processed what was happening.

His fingers covered Ning Zhou's clean nape, and his overwhelmingly strong pheromones trapped him in his embrace.

In short, things turned out well, so he wasn't going to quibble over how they got there.
