“If your life is an endless plum-rain season...”
“Then I’ll chase away all your bad weather.”
In the second semester of her first year of high school, Sang Yu met Jiang Rang.
He was a well-connected transfer student who had dropped into their class, with a handsome face that hid a rotten character. He skipped class and got into fights.
Sang Yu thought she would never have anything to do with a rich second-generation good-for-nothing like him.
Until one day, in front of their homeroom teacher, Jiang Rang pointed at her and jokingly said, “Find me a deskmate as quiet and good at studying as her, and maybe I’ll turn over a new leaf.”
The day she was forced to sit beside him, Sang Yu was so furious her teeth hurt.
She had never met such an shameless pest in her life.
Then one day,
Jiang Rang came across Sang Yu, hiding in the stairwell and quietly crying after arguing with her family.
“Do you know where my name comes from?”
Sang Yu sobbed softly. “Yu, as in ‘extra.’”
Jiang Rang had long since shed his bad-boy label and become the brightest star among his peers.
But for the first time, Sang Yu saw a serious, tentative look on his face.
“No.”
“It’s the ‘yu’ in ‘Do not say the mulberry dusk is late, for the rosy clouds still fill the sky.’”
