The Poor Scholar and His Marquis's Household Husband

The main story is complete. Extras will be posted from time to time. A laid-back, lie-flat bottom who gets forced into becoming a workaholic top vs. a beautiful, shallow bottom who wants her husband to rise to greatness After years of staying up late to work overtime, Lu Chuan drops dead and transmigrates into the body of a poor scholar in ancient times who has just failed the imperial examinations. Lu Chuan: ...The poor scholar's house is completely bare, with only a few acres of farmland left. How is a science-and-engineering guy with no talent for either literature or martial arts supposed to live? Do I really have to pick up a hoe and farm? Xie Ning is the only young master of the Yongning Marquis household and is doted on by everyone. The marquis's household and all their friends are full of rough-and-tumble martial artists, but he has a soft spot for bookish scholars. His family found him a poor scholar to be engaged to, and they were just waiting for the scholar to pass the exams and come marry him. Unexpectedly, after the scholar passed the exams, he did not come to marry Xie Ning. He came to break off the engagement. Xie Ning became the laughingstock of the capital overnight. Unwilling to be mocked like that, he searched around and found Lu Chuan, the original body's child prodigy, who was famous for his literary talent. Lu Chuan, busy hoeing the fields: There's really such a good deal?!!! Lu Chuan immediately dropped his hoe and waited to marry into a marquis's household and live off his husband! Only after the wedding did Lu Chuan learn that the marquis's family had chosen him because of the original body's reputation as a prodigy. To avoid being exposed, a science whiz and humanities disaster like him had no choice but to grit his teeth and study the rigid exam essays... Coming soon: "Taking the College Entrance Exams in the 1970s" Liang Yueze had just been recommended for graduate school when he transmigrated to the 1970s and became an educated youth sent down to the countryside. At the time, China had broken off relations with the Soviet Union and was locked in a Cold War with the United States. The country's science and technology lagged far behind. Liang Yueze had hoped to continue his mechanical engineering research and contribute to the country, but now he was only an educated youth, with no access to research projects. He also had to work in the fields every day to earn work points. Xu Xiuzhu came from a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, but had been branded a stinking intellectual. His gloomy temperament and that label made him unpopular with the other educated youths. Liang Yueze and Xu Xiuzhu were assigned to the same village. One was the son of a capitalist, the other the grandson of a stinking intellectual, and everyone was afraid of getting mixed up with them. On the very first day they arrived in the village, the other educated youths drove them out. The village chief had no choice but to put them up temporarily in an abandoned cowshed! The cowshed was drafty on all sides, with nothing but a roof covered in straw. Liang Yueze had thought sharing a room with several people in the city was already as bad as things could get. Who knew they could get worse! Unable to cook, Liang Yueze could only stare blankly as Xu Xiuzhu built a stove and made a fire to cook. So he could get a meal, he promised Xu Xiuzhu a series of unfair deals. Hoeing, weeding, fertilizing, harvesting: he had to do not only his own share, but Xu Xiuzhu's as well! What 21st-century college student had ever done work like this?!!! Necessity breeds ingenuity. Liang Yueze seized the chance to help repair the village's broken tractor and bicycles, earning permission to stop working in the fields. Soon, villagers were asking him to join them for meals. Xu Xiuzhu's modest cooking skills were no longer needed. Standing in the field, Xu Xiuzhu looked at the weeds he had just pulled, then at Liang Yueze beneath a tree, recording work points. He could not understand how things had turned out this way. To get back the comfortable life he used to have, Xu Xiuzhu decided to win Liang Yueze over. But Liang Yueze was not falling for it, and after much thought, Xu Xiuzhu decided the only thing he could use was his beauty! That night, Liang Yueze found a half-dressed beauty in his bed... A seemingly warm but actually cold and ruthless mechanical engineering genius top vs. a gloomy, taciturn traditional medicine genius bottom who is prickly all over Theme: Becoming better versions of ourselves
