Pick Up the Pieces and Love You

At twenty-six, Wen Siyu was told she had terminal cancer and only six months to live.

In the hospital office, the doctor tactfully asked if she had any regrets.

Wen Siyu thought of her son-preferential parents and her younger brother, who lay around at home doing nothing but asking for money...

She shook her head calmly. "No."

Just then, someone knocked on the door. She heard a nurse call out warmly, "Dr. Zhou." Wen Siyu looked up too, and immediately sucked in a breath.

They were both doctors, so why was there such a huge difference?

The newcomer was dressed in white, with fair skin and strikingly refined features. He wasn't wearing a mask, and his bearing was elegant and noble.

At that moment, Wen Siyu really did have one regret:

After twenty-six years of being single, her romantic star had finally risen.

Terminal cancer? Six months to live?

Death wasn't scary. Dying without ever having been in love was.

After that, Wen Siyu's face appeared at the hospital with increasing frequency. Unable to bear it any longer, Zhou Yujin looked through her medical records and urged her to be admitted.

Wen Siyu gave up pretending. "You'll have to treat my illness."

Zhou Yujin: "..."

One rainy night not long afterward, in the cramped, intimate hospital office, someone pinned Wen Siyu behind the door. Zhou Yujin, usually so restrained and self-possessed, panted in her ear and returned her words without missing a single one:

"You'll have to treat my illness."

After that, Wen Siyu suddenly found her conscience. She was counting down the days on her fingers. She couldn't let such a talented doctor, who saved lives, spend the rest of his youth as a widower because of an insignificant person like her.

So Wen Siyu quietly left and waited to die alone.

Just as she was on the verge of losing consciousness, Zhou Yujin's low, steady voice sounded in her ear:

"You're not sick. It was a misdiagnosis."

Wen Siyu jolted upright on her deathbed. "???"

I threw away all my dignity at the gates of hell, and now you're telling me I don't have to die?

So you don't have to be a widower anymore?

Wait, who said I was going to marry you!
