[Updates will begin once half the manuscript is complete. Note: This is not an episodic story. The whole novel follows one case.]
A new chief of the Major Crimes Unit and a cold-faced, sickly forensic examiner
Modern GL crime investigation story.
Blurb:
Shen Shi, former chief of the Major Crimes Unit, was ambushed during an operation to arrest suspects in a smuggling case...
After recovering from her injuries, her health was no longer good enough for her to serve as chief, so she had no choice but to step behind the scenes.
Shen Shi was, of course, unwilling to accept it. The culprit was still at large.
And Shen Shi was certain the culprit had been targeting her.
In fact, the culprit had deliberately left her alive.
-
Not long afterward, at the request of her superiors, Xing An, a SWAT officer from Yanjiang, parachuted into the Weigang City Public Security Bureau as the new chief of the Major Crimes Unit.
Ever since becoming chief, Xing An, completely unaware of the situation, could always feel Shen Shi's gaze on her from behind, cold as ice.
But whenever she turned around, Shen Shi immediately looked away.
Xing An, feeling unnerved by the stare, thought to herself: What on earth does this woman want?
Finally, one day, Xing An cornered Shen Shi at the door.
Blunt Xing An: Why do you keep looking at me?
Cold Shen Shi: I don't keep looking at you.
-
Later on.
Xing An pinned Shen Shi against a corner of the wall. "Do you like me?"
Forensic examiner Shen: "...Ahem. Get up. You're pinning my hair."
But Xing An saw a blush rise on Shen Shi's usually pale face.
Xing An grinned even more triumphantly.
/
One day, someone suddenly asked Xing An, "What kind of person is forensic examiner Shen in your eyes?"
Xing An thought for a long time. "She has a sour face and an even sourer temper, terrible physical stamina, and no redeeming qualities beyond her professional skills."
Shen Shi happened to pass by. "..."
//
"You only think that because you've never seen what Captain Shen used to be like."
"Before that incident, before that person appeared."
[Tips]
*They switch, but forensic examiner Shen is in such poor physical shape - - that their top/bottom roles lean one way.
*I'll add more to the blurb later.
The ice-cold forensic examiner is Shen Shi - -
The reason Captain Xing was transferred in is a mystery.
Blunt as a hammer / Off-the-charts strength / SWAT officer Xing An, whose beauty and social skills are inversely proportional
Ice-cold and calculating / ruthless and taciturn / Emotionally clueless forensic examiner Shen Shi, who's even darker and more unhinged than she seems
Theme: Don't get entangled in the debts of others' karma
