A self-indulgent work, written for my own amusement. The male lead is Ellery Queen.
So many people write about Sherlock Holmes. Why has no one written a novel about the King of the Golden Age mystery?
Reader's Guide:
- There won't be any mysteries to solve. This is a beginner-level romance, primarily about falling in love. It touches on some cases from the original, but there are no spoilers, so don't worry if you're planning to read the original.
- For readers who have read the original: This is "early Queen," the nationalities series version of Queen. I haven't read much of the later work.
- For those who haven't read the original: You can treat this as the original. I'll fill in some background as needed. The original is purely focused on puzzle-solving, unlike Sherlock Holmes, which has lots of character description. So the male lead doesn't really have much of a personality; I'll be making most of it up myself (.
- Original female lead. This Emma isn't that Emma, but I love Austen's Emma so much that the female lead is the granddaughter of that novel's couple. (Yes, I know the timeline doesn't work. Please ignore that.)
- Set in New York in 1930. What I know about it comes mostly from the movie The Great Gatsby, so please bear with any factual errors.
Theme: Whether you're a troublesome kid or a young lady, you can fall in love
The writing is super good. Emma and Ellery are both very cute. I'll update it when my wife comes back [join hands]
Discovered the treasure article, waiting for updates
Very few people write about Quinn!! Come on?
