Leopards Mustn't Be Sweet-Toothed!

The two things that bothered Rong Runzhi, the famous beauty who sold sweet soups in Linjiang City's Anhe Ward, were her younger sisters.

First, her second sister, Rong Zhanzhi, lacked ambition. She was a half-trained celestial master who'd taken up the trade partway through life. All day, she did nothing but tease cats and dogs, never once going to the Celestial Masters' Office in the capital to seek a proper career.

Second, her third sister, Rong Chengzhi, was far too ambitious. She studied by lamplight every night, but since the women's imperial examinations had yet to open, she was so furious and disillusioned that she made little glutinous rice balls by hand each day, her heart full of sorrow.

One day, something strange happened at the shop. A beauty came in for sweet soup. She had a tiny, bright red tear-shaped mole beneath her eye, and Runzhi was struck by her. But then, as she ate, the beauty suddenly started to cry. Runzhi thought something terrible had happened, but then the beauty revealed her true intentions:

I want to work for you.

Though the beauty's origins were unknown, she seemed so pitiful that Runzhi finally took her in. Her name was Baoying'er. Her mind worked differently from other people's, with a strange, natural cleverness. Whether inventing sweet soup recipes or resolving conflicts in the shop, she handled everything with ease.

Baoying'er was frank and beautiful, bold and alluring. When a new sweet soup turned out badly, she didn't lose heart. When it turned out well, she'd smile at Runzhi, her eyes and tear-shaped mole shining with an irresistibly plaintive charm.

Runzhi thought her encounter with Baoying'er was truly strange, until one day Baoying'er gave her two problems more difficult than her sisters.

One: Baoying'er loved her and wanted them to be lovers in this world.

Two: Baoying'er was a beautiful, terrifying female leopard.
